Applications for the UK Government’s Chevening Scholarships for International Students are now open for the 2023-2024 academic year. The program provides full financial support for scholars to study a Masters’s course of their choice at an eligible UK university.

ABOUT THE CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS
DEADLINE: November 2, 2022.
LEVEL: Master.
OPEN TO: 160 countries.
FUNDING: Fully funded.
DURATION: 1 year.
COUNTRY: United Kingdom.

BENEFITS AND AMOUNT OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
Chevening Scholarship recipients receive:

  • Tuition.
  • A monthly stipend.
  • The cost of a visa application.
  • Round-trip economy airfare to the UK
  • Arrival and return allowances
  • Additional grants and allowances to cover essential expenses
    In the event of quarantine, Chevening will cover your expenses.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for a Chevening scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You are a citizen of a country or territory eligible for the Chevening scholarship (list | PDF).
  • You are obligated to return to your country of citizenship for at least two years after your scholarship ends.
  • you must have an undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s, license, etc.) or its equivalent in your country of origin.
  • Meet one of the following criteria: either has at least two years, or at least 2,800 hours, of professional experience.
  • Apply to three different eligible university courses and receive an unconditional offer from one of these choices by July 14, 2023.

There is no minimum or maximum GPA. But, it should be noted that the Chevening Scholarship program is very competitive.

The different types of work experience eligible for Chevening may include

  • Full-time employment.
  • Part-time employment.
  • Volunteer work.
  • Paid or unpaid internship.

Your gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, marital or parental status, caste, class, or other attributes are not relevant to this program.

ELIGIBLE UNIVERSITIES
For a list of partner universities, please visit this link. All master’s programs offered by these universities are eligible for Chevening scholarships.

You must select three different master’s courses. These can be three different courses at the same institution or three similar courses at up to three different universities. All three courses must be similar in content. You must select courses that reflect your current or future career goals.

SCHEDULE
The application deadline for the Chevening Fellowships is November 1ᵉʳ, 2022 at 12:00 noon GMT (noon, UK time). From early to mid-February, shortlisted applicants will be notified of the date and location of the interviews.

From June 2023, the results will be announced. If you are selected, you have until 13 July 2023 to submit proof of an unconditional/conditional offer from a UK university.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS?
To apply for the UK Government’s Chevening Scholarships, follow these steps:

  • Browse the list of eligible courses and choose three master’s (one-year) courses that interest you.
  • Go to the website of the university where your master’s course is taught and apply for that program.
  • At the same time, apply for Chevening scholarships before November 1, 2022. An unconditional offer of a place at an eligible university is not required at the time of application. You have until July 14, 2023, to receive one.
  • If you receive a conditional offer and the university requires you to make a down payment to receive an unconditional offer, you are not required to make that payment. The program accepts conditional offers in this case.
    The documents required during your application differ from country to country.

It should be noted that all applications to the Chevening program are required to be submitted through the online application system. This process will be used strictly throughout the application process until selection.
